I. Backing Up Your Card Collection
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only attempt the following if you're comfortable with using the registry
editor.

How to backup your Yu-Gi-Oh Card Collection and Custom Deck
-----------------------------------------------------------

- Click on the Start Button, Select "Run...".

- Type "regedit" and press the Enter key.

- Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, KONAMI, then Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos,
and lastly system.

- With "system" highlighted in the folder tree, click on "Registry" from the
Menu, then select "Export Registry File..." and choose a file name and
location to save the file to.

- The data you're looking to import from the registry is the crc
check/encryption key ("flcrc"), since the import/export function found in
Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos: Yugi the Destiny is only used for further
expansion packs.

- Once you have the .reg file, do a search for the system.dat file and the
deck.ydc (or the .ydc file you've named your custom deck to). Backup these
two files together with the .reg file you've just created.

- To restore your card collection, just overwrite the system.dat/deck.ydc
file and double click on the .reg file to import the entries required.
(note: you will overwrite previous card collection data, so make sure you
don't need them anymore or at least have done the above backup too)

II. Strategy
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tip: If you right click on the Deck Construction
Screen, a window will appear with the options to
sort your deck by Name, Type, ATK, DEF, Attribute
and Level.

- At the beginning of a Duel, "Set" all your Spell Cards
(or just the ones you need) in the event that Yugi decides
to activate Card Destruction during his turn. You might
end up losing your Spell Cards (especially Limited Cards,
where you can only have one of each) even before having
the chance to cast them.
- Always "Set" your Spell Cards (or just the ones you need)
in the event that Yugi decides to activate Card Destruction
during his turn.
- Right-clicking anywhere on the screen has the same effect
as selecting "No". You practically do not have to move your
mouse when a window pops up since the pointer will always
automatically default to "Yes", therefore left-clicking will
select one choice while right-clicking will select the other.

VII. Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What does the symbol of an eagle with a blue
crystal ball as it's chest (found on the top right
and bottom left of the screen) during Duels represent?

A. Your health/the opponent's life points. The blue
liquid represents how much you have left (a fraction
out of 8000 points). Similar to diablo, this will
decrease or increase (by using health-increasing
spell cards) throughout the duration of a duel.
When this is empty it means that the duelist has
lost the battle.

Q. What is the swirling circle found on the duel
screen for?

A. That's the area for polymerized monster cards.
The symbol is similar to the found found on the
face of a polymerization card. Polymerized monsters
can only be summoned when the conditions are met
AND a polymerization card is either on the field
(face down) or in your hands. Clicking on your
polymerization symbol will display a window listing
all polymerization monsters available for your
current duel.

I. Backing Up Your Card Collection

Only attempt the following if you're comfortable with using the registry
editor.

How to backup your Yu-Gi-Oh Card Collection and Custom Deck
-----------------------------------------------------------

- Click on the Start Button, Select "Run...".

- Type "regedit" and press the Enter key.

- Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, KONAMI, then Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos,
and lastly system.

For Win98 users:

- With "system" highlighted in the folder tree, click on "Registry" from the
Menu, then select "Export Registry File..." and choose a file name and
location to save the file to.

For WinXP users:

- With "system" highlighted in the folder tree, click on "File" from the
Menu, then select "Export..." and choose a file name and location to save
the file to. Otherwise right-click on "system" to bring up a menu and
select "Export".

- The data you're looking to import from the registry is the crc
check/encryption key ("flcrc"), since the import/export function found in
Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos: Kaiba the Revenge is only used for further
expansion packs.

- Once you have the .reg file, do a search for the system.dat file and the
deck.ydc (or the .ydc file you've named your custom deck to). Backup these
two files together with the .reg file you've just created.

- To restore your card collection, just overwrite the system.dat/deck.ydc
file and double click on the .reg file to import the entries required.
(note: this will overwrite previous card collection data, so make sure you
don't need them anymore or at least have done the above backup too)

Here are some combos that may prove useful
in duels. You may also discover new combos
that use these same basic techniques.

001 - Tribute Rebirth
---------------------
This combo allows you to get rid of one of your
opponent's monsters and also summon and
attack with your own powerful monster.
"Tribute to The Doomed" and "Monster Reborn"
are necessary for this combo.

002 - Salvage Pot
-----------------
Using "Pot of Greed", this combo allows you to
draw a pair of cards of your choice from the
top five cards in your deck.
In addition to "Pot of Greed", "Big Eye" is also
necessary.

003 - Sudden Despair
--------------------
This combo works with monsters that can
attack your opponent directly, such as "Jinzo
#7".
"Axe of Despair" and a monster that can be
used for direct attacks are necessary.

004 - Fickle Fate

This combo is a counter-combo, designed to be
used in response to an opponent's attack.
The "Tailor of the Fickle" card is necessary.

First, activate "Tribute to The Doomed", and
discard a powerful monster from your hand.

A powerful monster on your opponent's Field is
destroyed.

Then, activate "Monster Reborn" and return the
monster you discarded from your hand to the
Field.

Now, use this monster to attack!

"Share the Pain" at the beginning of the round.)

First, activate the Flip Effect of "Big Eye".

At this point, return the card you will draw with
"Pot of Greed" to the top of the Deck.
(Select order of cards to be drawn)
By activating "Pot of Greed" to draw the cards
you selected, you can ensure the cards you
need will be added to your hand.

(You begin with "Mesmeric Control", "Corroding
Shark", "Axe of Despair", "Bean Soldier" and

his field.)

Equip the monster with "Axe of Despair".

Now use this monster to perform a direct attack
on your opponent.

The Spell Card "Axe of Despair" is a powerful
card that increases ATK by 1000. It's perfect
for a surprise attack at the beginning of a Duel.

004 - Fickle Fate

(You begin with "Monster Reborn", "Mesmeric
Control", "Faith Bird", "Dragon Seeker" and
"Stim-Pack" in hand; "Maha Vailo" is set in
an attack position on the field while "Tailor
of the Fickle" is set in a face-down position
on the field. Your opponent begins with
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon" in attack position
on his field and will equip this monster card
with "Axe of Despair"; he will lose 50 Life
Points by the end of the "Fickle Fate" combo
tutorial.)

"Tailor of the Fickle" is a Spell Card that allows
you to move an equipped card to a different
monster.
Including the equipped card, their monster has
a total ATK of 4000, while yours has an ATK of
1550. You will lose 2450 Life Points!
(If you attempt to activate "Tailor of the Fickle"
before your opponent attacks, you will receive
the message "But don't activate your card yet.")
Now! Activate "Tailor of the Fickle"!
(activate "Tailor of the Fickle", then designate
the Equip Card that you wish to switch over)
Select "Axe of Despair", equip it to "Maha
Vailo". The ATK of "Maha Vailo", including the
card's original effect, becomes 3050.
Your opponent has declared their target, and
unable to change it, they attack.
The opponent's monster is destroyed, and you
are able to inflict 50 points of indirect damage.

opponent will discard "Negate Attack before the
end of the "Goblin Ambush" combo tutorial.)

You will need to Set "Robbin' Goblin" during the
turn before you want to use the combo.
Now, use a monster with direct attack ability like
"Jinzo #7" to attack.

When two La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamps
are Special Summoned to the field through the
opponent's Ancient Lamp Effect, the second La Jinn
does not have an ATK/DEF value (the usual
white/grey text is not shown below the card).
When using the card to attack, you will get full
damage from the opponent's monster. You are still
able to equip this La Jinn, but it's ATK/DEF value
will never change (treated as 0/0).

Shortcut Parameters

Right-click on your desktop, select "New" then "Shortcut". Type the
entire line below (including the quotes) into the text box:

"C:\Program Files\KONAMI\
Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos Kaiba the Revenge\kaiba_pc.exe" -fps -speedy

(assuming you have Kaiba the Revenge installed in the default
directory, else browse for the file)

Name the new shortcut and click on the Finish button. Double-click
on the new shortcut to run Kaiba the Revenge; the game will run
at maximum speed and the current FPS will be shown on the
upper-left corner of the screen.

Below are several more options that you can use for the shortcut.

-Lspa ---- sets in-game text to Spanish.
-Lita ---- sets in-game text to Italian.
-Lfra ---- sets in-game text to French.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos -- Yugi the Destiny - Saved Deck Not Available

Problem: Saved deck no longer available/game will not start.

By design, the game automatically saves the user's deck at the end of each
duel (a verification message is not displayed during this process). When the
user quits the game, the saved deck should automatically load the next time
the game is started.

However, some users are finding that they have to start over with a generic
"Started deck" each time they load the game.

Cause #1:
This may be a result of having the game installed in a custom folder or
alternative drive - as opposed to the default directory on the C:\ drive.

Should this error occur, try uninstalling and reinstalling Yu-Gi-Oh! program
to the recommended default directory in order to resolve this issue.

Cause #2 -- For Windows 2000/XP:

These errors can also occur if the user is not logged onto Windows with FULL
administrative rights.

Make certain that you are logged onto Windows 2000 or XP as an administrator
when either installing or running the Yu-Gi-Oh! program, and not as a power,
guest, or other restricted user.

It is also important that if there are several administrator accounts on the
operating system/computer, that the user has logged on to the same one with
which the program was installed.
